–  Philips announced it is expanding its strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to offer its integrated diagnostics portfolio in the cloud.

–  The strategic partnership  aims to unify diagnostic workflows, improve access to critical insights, and drive better outcomes across clinical specialties.

Cloud-Powered Diagnostic Solutions

Philips is leveraging AWS’s cloud infrastructure to deliver scalable and reliable healthcare informatics solutions. By migrating its diagnostics portfolio to the cloud, Philips is enabling:

  • Unified Patient Data: Provides a comprehensive view of patient data from various diagnostic sources, including radiology images, pathology slides, and clinical records.
  • Improved Collaboration: Facilitates seamless collaboration among care teams by providing access to shared patient information.
  • Enhanced Workflows: Optimizes diagnostic workflows, improving efficiency and productivity.
  • Remote Access: Enables clinicians to access diagnostic tools, reports, and workflow orchestration capabilities remotely.

The Role of Generative AI

Philips is also exploring the potential of generative AI to further enhance diagnostic workflows. By leveraging Amazon Bedrock’s foundation models, Philips aims to develop AI applications that:

  • Automate routine tasks: Reduce administrative burden and free up clinicians’ time.
  • Optimize workflows: Streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Enhance decision-making: Provide clinicians with data-driven insights to support critical decisions.

Expanding Global Reach

Philips has already successfully transitioned over 150 sites in North America and Latin America to its HealthSuite Imaging platform on AWS. The company plans to accelerate cloud migration for health systems globally, expanding its reach to include Europe.

“Philips’ cloud-based healthcare informatics solutions allow us to drive better outcomes across clinical disciplines, including radiology, digital pathology and cardiology. We’re working closely with clinicians to ensure workflows become more efficient and give back valuable time to healthcare providers,” said Roy Jakobs, CEO of Royal Philips. “Collaborating with AWS helps us to innovate faster and deliver better care for more people.”
